Shopian, July 05: A remarkable achievement comes from a twelve-year-old girl in Shopian, South Kashmir, who has hand-written 30 chapters of the holy Qur’an in just 60 days.

Soliha Shafi, the daughter of Mohammad Shafi Bhat, hails from Watchi Shopian and is currently studying in the 8th class at Al-Saba School Watchi.

In an interview with the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Soliha revealed that she meticulously wrote the entire Qur’an, covering approximately 750 pages.

“I started reciting the Qur’an when I was 4 years old and have already memorized five chapters of the holy book,” she proudly stated.

Soliha shared that a local Imam Sahib visits their home daily to teach them the Qur’an. Impressed by her handwriting, he suggested that she undertake the task of writing the Qur’an. She acknowledged the challenge of balancing her studies with this endeavor but expressed gratitude towards her parents for their unwavering support and her teacher for encouragement.

“My life goal is to become a Hafizah, someone who memorizes the entire Qur’an by heart, as well as a doctor,” Soliha added.

While she initially planned to complete the entire handwriting within a month, exams hindered her progress. Soliha emphasized the importance of providing education to girls, as educating a woman is synonymous with educating an entire family.

She urged young people to utilize social networking sites for educational purposes instead of wasting time on frivolous activities.

Soliha’s dedication and commitment to both her studies and her religious pursuits serve as an inspiration for others—(KNO).
