ACB Arrests Patwari for Accepting Rs 50,000 Bribe in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 21: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested Ruman Qayoom, a Patwari of Halqa Mujagund, for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

The arrest followed a complaint from a land buyer, who reported that Qayoom demanded Rs 1 lakh for processing the registration and revenue documents of a 2-kanal land purchase. The buyer approached the ACB, which conducted a sting operation, catching Qayoom red-handed while accepting the bribe.

An FIR has been registered, and the accused is in custody as the investigation continues. (KNO)
