The Department of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing, Jammu & Kashmir, is inviting applications for an Interview/Proficiency Test to engage qualified professionals for the project titled “Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme (EIACP)”. This project is part of a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) by the Ministry of Ecology, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), and the engagement will be on a temporary/project-mode basis for a period of one year, or until the project’s funding ends.
Position Overview: IT/GIS Officer
Position Title: IT/GIS Officer
Location: Jammu
Monthly Emolument: ₹34,000/- per month
Eligibility Criteria for IT/GIS Officer
Candidates interested in applying for the position must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing (RS) or Geographic Information System (GIS) with at least 1 year of experience, OR
Graduate with a strong understanding of computer technology, including website development, design, internet use, publication, and other IT-related skills, along with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Skills and Expertise Required:
IT Proficiency: The applicant must demonstrate proficiency in website development, designing, and other IT functions related to publications and internet-based tasks.
GIS Knowledge: Candidates with experience in Remote Sensing and GIS will be preferred, as the project involves GIS-based tasks.
