JKBOSE Invites Applications for National Means Merit Scholarship (NMMSS) 2024-25

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released a notification for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for Class 8 students in the academic session 2024-25. Eligible students can apply offline by submitting the prescribed application form.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Class Requirement:
   • Must be studying in Class 8 during the 2024-25 academic year in schools under the Jammu/Kashmir division.
2. Minimum Marks:
   • General category: Minimum 55% marks in Class 7.
   • SC/ST category: Relaxation of 5%, requiring 50% marks.
3. School Type:
   • The student must be enrolled in a Government, Government-aided, or Local Body school.
4. Family Income:
   • Annual family income must not exceed Rs. 3.5 lakh.
5. Reservation:
   • Applicable as per the Union Territory policy of Jammu and Kashmir.
6. Domicile:
   • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir.

Scholarship Benefits

1. Amount:
   • Rs. 12,000 per year (totalling Rs. 48,000 for Classes IX to XII).
2. Number of Scholarships:
   • 1,068 scholarships will be awarded based on merit.
3. Special Needs:
   • Extra time will be provided for students with special needs as per applicable rules.

Application Process

• Documents Required:
  1. Class VII marks certificate
  2. Income certificate
  3. Domicile/category certificate (if applicable)
  4. Pay-in-slip of Rs. 60.00 (application fee)
• Fee Payment:
  • Deposit the fee in JK Bank Account No. 057401010000002 (Branch: JKBOSE, Bernina, Srinagar).
• Form Submission:
  • Submit the completed application form to the office of the concerned Chief Education Officer (Designated NMMSS Officer) by 10th January 2025.
