The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released a notification for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for Class 8 students in the academic session 2024-25. Eligible students can apply offline by submitting the prescribed application form.

Eligibility Criteria
- Class Requirement:
- Must be studying in Class 8 during the 2024-25 academic year in schools under the Jammu/Kashmir division.
- Minimum Marks:
- General category: Minimum 55% marks in Class 7.
- SC/ST category: Relaxation of 5%, requiring 50% marks.
- School Type:
- The student must be enrolled in a Government, Government-aided, or Local Body school.
- Family Income:
- Annual family income must not exceed Rs. 3.5 lakh.
- Reservation:
- Applicable as per the Union Territory policy of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Domicile:
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
Scholarship Benefits
- Amount:
- Rs. 12,000 per year (totalling Rs. 48,000 for Classes IX to XII).
- Number of Scholarships:
- 1,068 scholarships will be awarded based on merit.
- Special Needs:
- Extra time will be provided for students with special needs as per applicable rules.
Application Process
- Documents Required:
- Class VII marks certificate
- Income certificate
- Domicile/category certificate (if applicable)
- Pay-in-slip of Rs. 60.00 (application fee)
- Fee Payment:
- Deposit the fee in JK Bank Account No. 057401010000002 (Branch: JKBOSE, Bernina, Srinagar).
- Form Submission:
- Submit the completed application form to the office of the concerned Chief Education Officer (Designated NMMSS Officer) by 10th January 2025.
