SRINAGAR: To ensure smooth vehicular movement and address parking constraints, the Gulmarg Development Authority has issued an advisory restricting the movement of heavy vehicles on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg route.

According to the advisory, all heavy vehicles, including tempo travellers, buses, and public service vehicles with a seating capacity of more than ten passengers, will not be allowed to ply from Tangmarg to Gulmarg until further notice. Instead, such vehicles must park at designated parking slots in Tangmarg.
The decision has been taken due to limited parking facilities in Gulmarg and to facilitate hassle-free traffic movement, particularly during the ongoing tourist season. Authorities have urged all stakeholders to cooperate in implementing the advisory.
Officials said that the measure aims to enhance safety and convenience for visitors and locals commuting to the popular tourist destination. Further traffic regulations, if any, will be communicated in due course. (KNT)
