JKPSC Releases Provisional Selection List for Horticulture Development Officer Posts: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has issued the Provisional Select List for the post of Horticulture Development Officer in the Agriculture Production Department (Horticulture), as per Notification No. 55-PSC (DR-S) of 2025, dated 09.04.2025.

Earlier, the Agriculture Production Department (Horticulture), through communication No. Horti-Gaz/8/2021 (98948) dated 03.04.2022 and 24.05.2023, referred a total of 41 posts to JKPSC. These included:
Open Merit (OM): 20
Resident of Backward Area (RBA): 04
Scheduled Caste (SC): 04
Scheduled Tribe (ST): 04
ALC/IB: 02
Social Caste (SLC): 01
Pahari Speaking People (PSP): 02
Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 04
JKPSC advertised these vacancies via Notification No. 29-PSC (DR-P) of 2023 dated 09.06.2023. The written examination was held on 29.05.2023, and the result was first declared on 29.07.2024, followed by a revised result on 10.10.2024 as per Rule 42 of the JKPSC (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022 and Rule 31 of the JKPSC (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021.
A total of 111 candidates were shortlisted for the interview stage. Additionally, 07 candidates were called for interviews following a direction from the Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Jammu, in case O.A./215/2025 titled Shoeb Ahmad Bhatti and Ors V/S Agriculture Production Department, dated 03.03.2025. 13 candidates did not appear for the interview.
The viva-voce interviews took place from 4th to 10th March 2025 with the involvement of subject matter experts. Based on candidates’ performance in both written and interview rounds, and in accordance with Rule 43 (ii) of the JKPSC (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021, the final merit list (Annexure “A”) and provisional selection list (Annexure “B”) have been released.
Important Notes:
- Four EWS posts and one PSP post remain vacant. Candidates next in merit may be called for interviews to fill these unoccupied positions.
- All selections are provisional and subject to verification of documents/certificates. The Commission holds the right to review any selection if necessary.
- Objections, if any, must be submitted to JKPSC within five days of this notification. No objections will be entertained beyond this period.
