Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Snowfall Expected in South Kashmir – Travel Advisory Issued: SRINAGAR: Authorities in South Kashmir’s Anantnag have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel given a forecast of rain and snowfall from April 19 to 23.

According to an advisory issued by the Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag, moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall in higher reaches is expected during the period from April 19 to April 23, 2025. The public is advised to follow safety guidelines and avoid non-essential travel during this period to ensure safety and minimise disruption.

Furthermore, the Revenue, PWD (R&B), PWD (Mechanical Engineering), Flood Control Division Anantnag, PMGSY, Urban Local Bodies, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, and Health & Medical Education Departments have been requested to make necessary logistical arrangements and take preparedness measures in view of the forecast. These departments are also directed to activate their respective control rooms to provide immediate assistance.
