SRINAGAR: A woman died after setting herself on fire following a family dispute in the Hazratbal area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday.

Officials said the woman, originally from Shalimar and married in Hazratbal, sustained critical burn injuries after dousing herself in kerosene. She was shifted to JLNM Hospital Rainawari but died during treatment.
Soon after the incident, the SDPO Zakura, SHO Nigeen, and DO Hazratbal visited the scene to assess the situation.
A police official confirmed the death, adding that the woman was a mother of two.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and investigations are underway. [KNT]
