The elderly man, Abdul Rehman from Srinagar, has been visiting the Hajj House every year for the past 45 years just to see off pilgrims and seek their prayers. He was interviewed by multiple media outlets while covering the departure of the first batch of Hajj pilgrims from Srinagar.Speaking emotionally to reporters, he said, “For 45 years, I’ve been coming here to see off pilgrims and request them to pray for me. I have no one. I am alone. Every time, I ask Allah to grant me this wish.”

The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, prompting a flood of responses from people across the Valley and beyond. According to reports, a doctor from Kupwara was among the first to contact a media outlet, expressing his wish to sponsor the man’s Hajj pilgrimage.“I saw his video and couldn’t stop my tears. I will help him fulfil this dream, complete his documentation, and arrange everything,” said Dr Jan Mushtaq Khan from Kupwara.

Within hours, the emotional turn of events saw the same man, who had arrived in the morning to bid farewell to departing pilgrims, suddenly learn that his 45-year-long prayer had been answered.

Locals and media personnel present at the Hajj House described the moment as deeply moving. “In just two hours, a dream that waited 45 years was fulfilled. It’s nothing but divine mercy,” said one of the bystanders.

Overcome with emotion, Abdul Rehman thanked the doctor and all those who came forward to support him. “May Allah grant Hajj to every dreamer. Today, I am no longer alone,” he said through tears.

The doctor added, “My brother, Ab Majeed Khan, sent me the video and asked for details. I contacted the media persons who had recorded the interview and requested verification. After confirmation through local masjid committees, I decided to help him reach Kaaba without a second thought.” (JKNS)
