RINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in various areas of South Kashmir to facilitate essential maintenance work at the 475 MVA, 220/132 KV Grid Substation in Mirbazar. The maintenance is being carried out by Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) as part of preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025.

According to the Chief Engineer, KPDCL, the shutdown is required to carry out maintenance of the main and reserve bus bars and to rectify issues in the DC circuit of the protection system. The shutdown will affect several 132 KV and 220 KV bays across a staggered schedule from May 8 to 20, 2025.
