               KPDCL Power Outages: Areas Affected Due to Maintenance and Line Upgradation : SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in parts of south Kashmir to facilitate tree pruning, preventive maintenance, and line upgradation works, which will affect electricity supply across multiple districts.

According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), the 33 KV Lisser-Kokernag line will remain shut on 31 May 2025, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, for branch cutting and pruning of trees. As a result, 33/11 KV receiving stations at Kokernag and Dandipora will be switched off, affecting power supply to Kokernag, Dandipora, Sagam, Vailoo, and adjoining areas.

Similarly, to enable similar pruning operations, the 33 KV Mattan-Achabal line will also be shut down on 31 May from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, impacting the Achabal, Shangus, and Cherpora receiving stations. The outage will disrupt power in Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora, Uteersoo, and neighbouring localities.

In addition, the 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP line will undergo upgradation from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR on 31 May, leading to the shutdown of Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veer, and Cheeniwadder receiving stations. Power supply will be affected in Shamsipora, Jablipora, Zirpara, Veer, Srigufwara, SICOP, and nearby areas during the same time frame.

Furthermore, on 02 June 2025, from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM, the 33 KV Pampore-Khrew line will be shut down for branch cutting and stabilisation. Consequently, the Shar Shali, Khrew-1st, Khrew-2nd, and TLMD-4th receiving stations will remain off, affecting Khrew, Shar Shali, Wahab Sahab, Bathan, Zantrang, and adjacent villages.

Likewise, on 04 June, shutdown will be observed on the 33 KV Pampore-Lethpora line from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM, impacting power to Lethpora, Konibal, various LIS stations, Khyber Milk, and BPCL, along with Chandhara, Samboora, Patalbagh, CRPF Lethpora, Dusoo, Ladhoo, Goondbal, Gooripora, and surrounding areas.

Lastly, for the installation of a 63 KVA substation for the WSS Stage 1 at Sethergund Kakapora, the 33 KV Pampore-Pulwama line will be shut down on 02 June from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM. This will disrupt supply to Newa, Kakapora, Marvel LIS (Stage I-IV), Gadoora, Parigam, Narbal, Ukhoo, Zadoora, Wahibugh, and nearby areas.

Authorities have urged residents of the affected regions to make necessary arrangements and bear with the inconvenience as these essential works are aimed at ensuring better power supply and infrastructure upgrades.kashmir life .
