KPDCL announced scheduled power shutdowns across multiple areas in Kashmir Division

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across multiple areas in Kashmir Division to facilitate essential testing, sealing, and infrastructure upgrades between July 23 and 28, 2025.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Pattan-Amargarh line’s Hamray Tap will be observed on 23 July from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM to conduct testing and sealing of a Trivector meter and CT & PT Combo unit at ESS-II Pattan Railway Station. As a result, the 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Hamray will remain off, affecting power supply to Hamray, Tapper, Cold Store, Flour Mill, and adjacent areas.

On the same day, to enable works related to power evacuation from GIS Harwan, the 33 KV Burzhama Tap line will undergo shutdown from 07:00 AM to 01:00 PM, disrupting electricity in Danihama, Khimber, Tailbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shopperbagh, Rahbagh, and surrounding localities.

Additionally, KPDCL will carry out the shifting of electrical utilities necessitating a shutdown of the 33 KV Kupwara Old line on July 26 and 28 from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM, resulting in outages at Krusen, Sogam, Khumriyal, Diver, Machil, and their adjoining regions.

Furthermore, the 33 KV MES line will remain off on July 24 and 26 from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM, impacting the MES Receiving Station and causing supply interruptions in Krusen, Sogam, Khumriyal, Diver, Machil, and nearby areas.
