SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Kashmir to facilitate infrastructure upgrades and maintenance works on 33kV lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, power supply to various areas in Shopian and Pulwama districts will remain affected due to renovation works on the 33kV Landoora line (Part-2) for allocation of a permanent bay. As a result, the 33/11kV Receiving Station at Reshipora will remain shut, affecting power supply to Zainapora, Chitragam, Awneera, Reban, Aglar, Sugan, Tukawangam, Nagbal and adjoining areas from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on August 6 and August 10, 2025.
In connection with the same works, shutdown of the 33kV Lassipora-Keegam line will also be observed on August 10, 2025, from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM, affecting power supply from the 33/11kV Receiving Stations at Keegam, Mitrigam, Chararipora and Ghulshanabad. The affected areas include Keegam, Haal, Nikas, Mitrigam, Chararipora, Phakherpora, Rajpora and adjoining localities.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33kV Lassipora-IGC Lassipora line will impact power supply to the Industrial Estate (IGC) Lassipora and nearby areas on August 10, 2025, during the same hours.
In Srinagar, KPDCL will also carry out works for extending the existing 33kV feeder from Burzhama to Batpora Receiving Station to evacuate power from the GIS Harwan station. This will require shutdown of the 33kV Burzhama Tap line, affecting the 33/11kV Receiving Station at Burzhama and power supply to Danihama, Khimber, Chaterhama, Tailbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shoperbagh, Rahbagh, Batpora and adjoining areas on August 2 and August 4, 2025, from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
In another maintenance activity, shutdown of the 33kV GIS Nowshera (Kathidarwaza) line will be carried out to replace a damaged heat shrinkable kit of the GIS BAMK line. As a result, the 33/11kV Receiving Station at Kathidarwaza will remain off and power supply to Saida Kadal, Psychiatric Hospital, Central Jail, Naidyar, Kathidarwaza, Local Dal and nearby areas will be affected on August 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
The KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan accordingly.
