The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a comprehensive weather forecast and advisory for Jammu and Kashmir for the coming days, highlighting hot and humid conditions, along with the likelihood of rain, thundershowers, and potential heavy rainfall in parts of the Jammu Division.

Weather Forecast (August 2–11, 2025)
2nd–3rd August
- Expect generally hot and humid weather.
- Brief spells of rain/thundershower activity likely at isolated places.
- Moderate showers expected at a few locations in the Jammu Division.
4th–6th August
- Hot and humid during daytime across the region.
- Light to moderate rain/thundershowers anticipated at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Intense showers and heavy rainfall likely at isolated places in Jammu Division, particularly in:
- Rajouri
- Reasi
- Udhampur
- Doda
- Jammu
- Kathua
- Most rainfall activity is expected late at night or during early morning hours.
7th–9th August
- Predominantly hot and humid conditions will persist.
- Possibility of brief, scattered showers during this period.
10th–11th August
- A new spell of rain and thundershowers is expected at many places across the Union Territory.
Weather Advisory: Important Warnings and Guidelines
- Heavy/Intense Rain Alert:
Moderate to heavy showers are possible in parts of the Jammu Division between August 4–6, increasing the risk of waterlogging and overflowing streams. - Risk of Natural Hazards:
- Flash floods may occur in vulnerable areas.
- Risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones is significantly higher in hilly terrains during this period.
- Advisory for Farmers:
The MET Department advises farmers to resume and complete agricultural operations by August 3rd to avoid disruption during the rainy spell.
