JKSSB Document Verification Notice for General Line, Science/Math, and Urdu Teacher Posts – Notification No. 06 of 2017

Srinagar, August 3, 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an important notice regarding the document verification process for petitioners applied under Notification No. 06 of 2017, dated 28.12.2017. This notification pertains to the recruitment of General Line Teacher, Science/Math Teacher, and Urdu Teacher positions in the School Education Department for the Kashmir Division (district cadre).

The document verification is being conducted in accordance with the directions issued by the Hon’ble Court. The petitioners involved had previously not been awarded points for certain academic degrees. After judicial intervention, these degrees have now been considered valid, and the merit positions of the candidates have been revised accordingly.

As per the latest update, JKSSB has scheduled a special round of document verification exclusively for those petitioners who were affected by the earlier oversight. This process will be held strictly as per the schedule outlined in the annexure of the official notification.

Background of the Court’s Direction

Several candidates had filed petitions asserting that their higher or additional qualifications were not given due consideration during the initial evaluation. The Hon’ble Court reviewed these cases and directed the JKSSB to award appropriate merit points based on the valid degrees and revise the selection list accordingly. In compliance with the court’s instructions, JKSSB has now updated the merit standings and issued this fresh verification notice to impacted petitioners.

Instructions to Candidates

Attendance for verification is mandatory. Failure to appear as per the notified schedule will result in the cancellation of candidature. This document verification round is the final opportunity for petitioners to validate their eligibility. No claims or requests will be entertained post-deadline. While COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed, candidates are advised to follow standard hygiene and health safety protocols during their visit.
