SRINAGAR: A 20-year-old youth was swept away by flash floods while attempting to cross a stream in the Karian Mubarakpura area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday.

An official said that the youth has been identified as Atif Ahmed, son of Ashfaq Shah, a resident of Karian Mubarakpura. Soon after the incident, police and SDRF teams reached the spot and launched a massive search operation.
SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar, along with senior officers, is personally monitoring the rescue efforts.
Officials further said that despite continuous searches, no trace of the missing youth has been found so far. Rescue teams are still on the job. (KNC)
