Official sources said locals spotted the body floating in the river and immediately informed the Police Station Baramulla. A police team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body with the help of locals.

The deceased has been identified as Shameema Begum, wife of Arshid Ahmad Malla, a resident of Khanpora, Baramulla, aged around 43 years.

They said that the body has been shifted to GMC Baramulla for medico-legal formalities.

Further investigation has been initiated. (KNC)
