SRINAGAR: At least 63 people have died and property worth four hundred crores has been damaged as Himachal Pradesh has been severly affected by flash floods, cloudbursts and incessant rains.

Mandi district is the worst-affected area, especially Thunag subdivision, where roads are blocked and essential services disrupted. In the district alone, 40 people are missing. Relief camps have been set up while the Indian Air Force air-dropped food packets to affected areas, NDTV reports.
“Casualities have also been reported from Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Sirmauar, Solan, and Una districts. Over 100 people have been injured across the state. We have recorded over rs 400 crore loss but the actual damage is likely much higher,” DC Rana, Special Secretary of the State Disaster Management Authority and the Revenue Department, said, “Our focus now is on search, rescue, and restoration.
Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy downpours till July 07 and advised the adminstration to maintain arrangements to prevent further collateral damage.kashmir life
