SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued a shutdown schedule across several districts to facilitate branch cutting, line maintenance and augmentation works on 33KV power lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, multiple receiving stations will remain off, affecting supply to large parts of Baramulla, Uri, Budgam and Ganderbal between 28 September and 14 October.
In Baramulla, shutdowns will impact Sheeri–Baramulla 1st and 2nd lines, LJHP Gantamulla–Uri, LJHP Gantamulla–Boniyar, Amargarh–Watergam, Amargarh–SIDCO, Sheeri–Malpora and Delina–Delina lines, affecting areas including Old Town, Kanlibagh, Boniyar, Nowshera, Sultanpora, Sopore-II, Handwara and adjoining localities. Power supply in these areas will remain disrupted between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM on scheduled dates.
In Uri subdivision, Salamabad, Mohura, Noorkhah, Rampur, Dhani and surrounding villages will face outages on 6, 11 and 14 October. Similarly, shutdowns in Budgam district will affect the Budgam–Watrehail Tap line, disrupting power in Watrehail, Samsaan, Parthan and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on 30 September and 4 October.
In Ganderbal, to facilitate works on the under-construction Wangath Tap line, shutdown of Kangan–Surfraw and Kangan–Kangan lines will be observed on 29 September, affecting Sonamarg, Gund, Kullan, Gagangeer, Kangan and adjoining villages between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to take note of the scheduled outages and cooperate during the maintenance period.
