Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students in J&K: Applications Open for 2024-25
The Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir, invites Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from the Union Territory to apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship under a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for the academic year 2024-25. Both fresh and renewal applications can be submitted online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible students include those:
- Studying in recognized institutions (schools, colleges, universities, or technical/medical institutes) with valid U-DISE, AISHE, or NCVT codes.
- Enrolled in government, government-aided, or government-recognized institutions within or outside J&K.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community and be domiciles of J&K.
- Have passed matriculation, higher secondary, or any higher examination from a recognized board or university.
- Have a family income of less than ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
- Hold a bank account linked to Aadhaar and a registered mobile number.
- Not be availing any other scholarship simultaneously.
- Ensure Aadhaar is seeded with their bank account for One Time Registration (OTR) and payment.

Steps for Online Application
For Fresh Students
- Download the NSP OTR App from the Google Play Store and complete face authentication using the AadhaarfaceRD app.
- Register on NSP to generate the One Time Registration (OTR) number, mandatory for 2024-25 applications.
For Renewal Students
- Students who performed face authentication in 2023-24 will receive their OTR via SMS on their registered mobile number.
- Students without an OTR can retrieve it using the “Know Your OTR” feature on NSP.
Note: Communication will be sent to the registered email ID. Aadhaar-seeded accounts linked to NPCI are mandatory for scholarship disbursement.

Documents Required
Applicants must upload:
- Domicile Certificate/Permanent Residence Certificate
- ST Category Certificate issued by the competent authority
- Income Certificate (or Salary Certificate for employed parents/guardians)
- Bonafide Certificate from the Head of the Institution
- Fee Receipt detailing the candidate’s class and semester
- Marksheet/Promotion Certificate from the last qualified examination
