SRINAGAR: Two minor girls from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district lost their lives after falling into water-filled pits in Bari Brahmana, Jammu, district officials said.

They said that the two nomadic girls, aged about 10 and 11, drowned in the pits, which were allegedly created due to illegal mining.
Officials said their bodies were retrieved on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognisance of the incident and started an investigation. (JKNS)
