Responding to a question by Farooq Ahmad Shah and supplementary queries from Aijaz Jan and Mohammad Akram Choudhary in the Legislative Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Poonch-Tangmarg road via Loran has not been sanctioned by the Government of India.

Addressing concerns about changes in the road alignment, he assured that an inquiry would be conducted, and a committee comprising relevant officials would be formed to investigate the matter.

He emphasised the road’s importance in connecting the Pir Panjal region to the Kashmir Valley, boosting tourism, and creating employment opportunities. He also highlighted its cultural and societal significance for both regions.
