The case was filed following a complaint from Gujjar Nagar resident Rashid Manhas, who accused Jameel Anjum of taking money and gold from him and his sister in exchange for securing them government employment, a crime branch spokesperson said.

The second accused, Masroor Ahmad from Ghambir Moghla in Rajouri district, allegedly defrauded Sunil Kumar from Suchetgarh in a similar manner.

Anjum is a repeat offender with a history of fraud, cheating, forgery, and impersonation, the spokesperson added.

“Ten cases have been registered against him at different police stations in Jammu. While three have already been sent to court, seven remain under investigation,” he said.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu Crime Branch, Benam Tosh, confirmed that two separate cases have been registered in connection with the alleged fraud.kashmir life
