Big News for Aadhaar users: Government’s new order for those using Aadhaar, do this work immediately, otherwise heavy fine will be imposed
Big News for Aadhaar users: If Aadhaar card is called the most important document of today’s era, then it will not be wrong. We also have many benefits from Aadhaar card. However, the benefits are there only if your Aadhaar is linked to your other assets. So in this case your Aadhaar should be linked with all your important documents. PAN card is one of those important documents. Now the government is looking cautious to link Aadhaar card and PAN card and people who do not have these two documents linked, they may have to suffer losses in the coming times.
Linking Last Date
The deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar card has been extended several times and this time the Income Tax Department is not in favor of extending it. That’s why the department is constantly asking PAN card holders to link it with Aadhaar. A late penalty of Rs 1000 was prescribed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for linking Aadhaar with PAN after June 30. Without paying the late fee, no one will be allowed to link their PAN with their Aadhaar. However, people may have to bear more losses in the coming times. PAN and Aadhaar can be linked till 31 March 2023.
As per the Income Tax Act, 1961, the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar is 31.3.2023 for all PAN holders who do not fall in the exempted category. If PAN is not linked with Aadhaar, PAN will become inactive.
