SRINAGAR: The body of a man who jumped into the River Jhelum in the Jamia area of Sopore, Baramulla district, on 17th June, was retrieved on Friday.
An official reported that Mohammed Amin Ahanger of Batpora, Sopore, was found near the Khushal Matoo locality after five days.
He mentioned that as soon as Ahanger jumped into the river on Eid day, a rescue operation was initiated by the SDRF, Police, and locals.

Ahanger, a driver by profession, was retrieved this afternoon, he added.
The body will be handed over to the family after completing all legal and medical formalities, the official further noted (KNO).
