SRINAGAR: The District Election Office Srinagar conducted the final phase of election training on Saturday for female and specially-abled poll personnel, whose services will be utilised at special Pink and Red Polling Stations in district Srinagar.
Under the directions of District Election Officer Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, eight all-women managed special Pink Polling Stations and eight all-PwD managed special Red Polling Stations have been established in the district, as directed by the Election Commission of India, to add a feature of inclusiveness in the ongoing Legislative Assembly Elections.
The participating poll personnel were readied to stand alongside the general poll staff and contribute to strengthening the institutions of democracy by entirely managing polling stations in the district.
The Master Trainers deputed by the DEO Srinagar delivered extensive training and hands-on experience sessions to equip the participating female and PwD employees with the skills and knowledge to operate poll machinery on the day of elections.
Special instructions were also conveyed to the participating employees to strictly follow the poll guidelines for free and fair Assembly Elections in Srinagar.
Earlier, the DEO Srinagar conducted numerous training and hands-on experience sessions in different phases in Srinagar to establish a skilled, well-trained, and competent team of poll personnel to successfully carry out their polling duties on election day.
The district-level team of DLMTs and ALMTs, led by the Coordinator Trainings, Dr Manzoor Reshi at DEO Srinagar, prepared an extensive training schedule soon after the announcement of Legislative Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir by the Election Commission of India.
Nodal Officer Trainings, Riyaz Ahmad Shah (Deputy Director FCS&CA), guided the training team for the successful implementation of the training schedule in district Srinagar.
As directed by the DEO Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, the trainers ensured that each employee whose services will be utilised in the elections is able to operate poll machinery and is competent to carry out their responsibilities without difficulty—(KNO).
