“Forest Guard Missing After Falling Into Nallah Sindh, Search Enters Day 2” : SRINAGAR: A massive rescue operation continued for the second consecutive day on Saturday in the Paribal Shallabugh area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after a forest guard reportedly drowned in Nallah Sindh while on duty.
75% students qualify for class 11th exam, pass percentage up by 3% from last year.
The forest guard has been identified as Shameem Ahmad Mir (45), son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Batwina, Ganderbal.
Shameem is believed to have slipped into the fast-flowing waters of Nallah Sindh in Compartment No. 1 of the Paribal forest area late Friday evening during the course of his official duties.
Following the incident, a large-scale search and rescue operation was launched involving Marine Commandos, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, local administration, and other rescue teams.
Local residents and family members have also joined the search efforts alongside officials.
Despite continuous operations through Friday night and into Saturday, there has been no trace of the missing forest guard. The search is being conducted under difficult conditions, including strong currents and rugged terrain.
“All available resources have been deployed, and the operation is being closely monitored,” an official from the Forest Department told KNO.
