The Minister in charge of the Health and Medical Education Department, confirmed that the matter would be raised with the relevant central ministry.
The minister was responding to a query raised by MLA Dr Sajad Shafi, who sought clarification on whether the government would push for the establishment of FMGE examination centres in these locations to facilitate aspiring foreign medical graduates from the region.
Notably, the demand for local examination centres has been a long-standing request from Kashmiri medical graduates who complete their studies abroad.
Currently, students from Kashmir are required to travel to centres in Samba, Noida, or Amritsar to appear for the FMGE, causing logistical and financial difficulties. (KNO)
