Eligibility Criteria
Domicile Requirement
Applicants must be domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid domicile certificate issued under SO 166 of 2020.
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025)
Open Merit (OM): 40 years
Scheduled Caste (SC): 43 years
Government or Contractual Employees: 40 years
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognized board.
A valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license is mandatory.
Application Fee
All applicants must pay ₹400 as an application fee. The fee is to be paid through online mode only.
Selection Process
The selection will consist of three stages:
- Driving Test
This is qualifying in nature. Only those who pass the driving test will be eligible for the written exam. - Written Test (CBT/OMR Based)
The written test will carry 50 marks and last 60 minutes. It will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions. There is no negative marking. - Interview/Viva-Voce
This round carries 10 marks. Final selection will be based on the combined performance in the written test and interview.

Traffic Rules and Signaling – 20 marks
Motor Parts and Basic Repairs – 15 marks
General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 15 marks
