SRINAGAR: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the opening of admissions for the July 2025 session, offering a range of academic programmes including Master’s, Four-Year Undergraduate, Diploma, and Certificate courses through its 30 Study Centres across Kashmir and Ladakh.

According to IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, prospective candidates can apply online at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in or via the university’s main portal www.ignou.ac.in. The deadline for submitting applications is July 15.
The July 2025 admission cycle includes over 60 new programmes. Among them are Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, and Facilities & Service Management. At the postgraduate level, new M.Sc. programmes are available in Geography, Geo-Informatics, Applied Statistics, and Renewable Energy.
To apply, candidates must register on the SAMARTH portal, create a user ID and password, and provide an active mobile number, email ID, scanned academic documents, a recent photograph, and access to online payment. Creating a DEB ID is also mandatory prior to application.
Regional Director of IGNOU Srinagar, Dr A.H. Rizvi, urged eligible learners to apply early. “IGNOU continues to expand educational access in remote and underserved areas. We encourage students to apply before the deadline,” he said.
He also cautioned applicants to remain alert against fraudulent activity. “Do not share personal or financial details over WhatsApp, QR codes, or unofficial links. Applications and fee payments are accepted only through IGNOU’s official website,” he added.
