SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police solved a missing girl case within 12 hours, locating the 15-year-old and apprehending her alleged abductor in Shopian.

“Police Post Keegam received a complaint from Shabir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Haji Check, reporting that his daughter had been missing since 11 AM the previous day. Acting promptly, officials launched a search operation,” a police spokesperson in a statement said.
During the investigation, credible information indicated the girl’s presence in Yaripora, Kulgam. Acting on this lead, a police team was dispatched to the location.
The missing girl was recovered from Yaripora, Kulgam, along with a 16-year-old boy (name withheld), a resident of Tarigam, Kulgam. “A case under FIR No. 60/2025 has been registered under Section 137(2), and further investigation is underway,” police said.kashmir life
