SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has reported a significant increase in digital transactions in the days leading up to Eid al-Fitr 2025, reflecting a growing preference for online banking among customers during the festive season.
In the four days ahead of Eid 2025, Kashmir drew Rs 13,903.03 crores from JK Bank. According to the bank’s consolidated report covering the period from March 24 to March 30 (till 6 PM), a total of 95,475,882 transactions were processed. The surge highlights the widespread adoption of digital financial services in the region.
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) led the way with 60,774,074 transactions, totaling Rs 4,563.32 crores. Mobile banking services, including the bank’s “Delight” and “Delight+” platforms, also witnessed significant traction, accounting for 30,732,709 transactions amounting to Rs 5,383.6 crores.
While digital channels dominated, traditional banking services remained relevant. ATM and debit card transactions reached 3,236,184, amounting to Rs 1,207.7 crores. eBanking services recorded 158,222 transactions worth Rs 2,554.86 crores, and kiosk banking facilitated 574,693 transactions amounting to Rs 193.55 crores.
The increased reliance on digital transactions underscores the convenience and accessibility of online banking, particularly during festive periods.
