NEET UG 2025 Today: Over 22.7 Lakh Students Set to Appear, NTA Warns Against Fake News and Unfair Practices
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 is set to be conducted today, May 4, from 2 PM to 5 PM. Organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA), this year’s examination will see a record-breaking participation of over 22.7 lakh aspirants at 5,453 centres across India and 13 international cities.
The NTA has confirmed that all logistical and security arrangements have been finalised, and mock drills were conducted at every exam centre to ensure a smooth and secure testing environment.
“All preparations and logistical arrangements for organising a safe and secure examination have been made,” said the NTA in its official statement.
NTA Cracks Down on Fake News, Issues Warning to Candidates
As NEET UG 2025 garners nationwide attention, the NTA has observed a surge in online misinformation and fake exam-related claims. To combat this, the agency has partnered with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and launched a crackdown on digital platforms spreading false information.
So far, the NTA has reported over 165 Telegram groups and 32 Instagram accounts involved in promoting fake content, exam assistance services, or medical admission offers. These actions fall under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, which can lead to serious legal consequences for both students and facilitators of such malpractices.
Students are strongly advised to rely solely on information from the official NTA website: https://nta.ac.in
