Police Arrest Four in Major Drug Bust, Seize Contraband: SRINAGAR: Police in Srinagar have arrested four alleged drug peddlers and seized contraband substances in two separate operations as part of its continued crackdown on narcotics.

According to officials, a team from OCAPS Police Station Soura intercepted a motorcycle without a number plate at a checkpoint in Shalbaf Mohalla. Two individuals on board were identified as Khalid Nazir Chelu, son of Nazir Ahmad of Umer Colony B Lal Bazar, and Umer Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad of Dar Mohalla Awanta Bhawan Soura. Upon search, a substantial quantity of a charas-like substance was recovered. The motorcycle, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, was also seized.
In a separate incident, police from Zakoora Police Station stopped a load carrier (JK01BA-0654) at Wanihama Link Road. Two occupants—Kawnser Mehdi Teli, son of Mohammad Ayoob Teli from Merakshah Colony, and Sahil Ahmad Shaikh, son of Sana-Ula-Shaikh from Batpora Hazratbal—were found in possession of a similar contraband substance hidden on the vehicle’s dashboard.
All four accused have been taken into custody, and separate cases have been registered under relevant sections of law. Investigations are currently underway.
Police have urged the public to report any information related to narcotics or other criminal activity to their nearest police station or by dialling the emergency number 112.
