A team led by Food Safety Officer Sheikh Abbas carried out surprise inspections across Safapora, Badampora, and Beehama Chowk. During the raid at Raj Palace restaurant, officials discovered large freezers stocked with stale Rista, Goshtaba, Kabab, fried chicken, and buckets of minced mutton.

“Staff members attempted to dump bags of Rista and Kabab into a neighbouring courtyard to evade seizure, but the move was thwarted. All contaminated meat was confiscated and disposed off on the spot”, he said.

The premises were subsequently sealed, and the food business operator booked under relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Similar actions were taken earlier in Safapora and Badampora against outlets found using unhygienic ingredients.
