The decision follows a request from the Chief Engineer of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department to ensure uninterrupted restoration of water supply in Srinagar.

According to officials, the shutdown was withdrawn to support ongoing restoration works in several parts of the city, including suburban and rural areas, affected by the sinking of the right embankment of the Sindh Power Canal near Malhar Nursery.

The restoration works are being carried out by the Jal Shakti Department.
