Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif Keng said that the temperature was 9.0°C above the seasonal average. He said the previous record for May was 34.3°C, recorded on May 28, 1971.The highest May temperature recorded in Srinagar, based on available data, is 36.4°C on May 24, 1968, though experts consider this figure less verified.Qazigund recorded 33.5°C (8.9°C above normal), Kokernag 33.3°C (9.2°C above normal), Kupwara 31.6°C (5.3°C above normal), Pahalgam 27.8°C (5.6°C above normal), and Gulmarg 25.4°C (8.8°C above normal).

In the Jammu region, temperatures were also elevated, with Jammu recording 38.5°C (0.1°C above normal), Katra 36.2°C (0.9°C above normal), Banihal 31.0°C (4.1°C above normal), Bhaderwah 32.1°C (3.9°C above normal), and Batote 29.2°C (2.1°C above normal).In Ladakh, Leh recorded a maximum temperature of 22.4°C.
