Tentative Seniority List of Section Officers of Heads of the Departments/Offices

Whereas, vide Notification No. GAD-ESTB/58/2021-09-GAD dated 13.02.2023, a Tentative Seniority list of Section Officers of Heads of Departments/Offices as it stood on 01.01.2023 was notified; and

Whereas, the cases of Section Officers, in respect of whom the concerned departments/offices furnished the desired information, were examined in the General Administration Department and requisite information, in respect of cases where deficiencies were observed, was sought from the concerned departments vide letter dated 13.02.2023; and.

Whereas, subsequently, the department received several fresh cases of Section Officers and on examination of these cases it was observed that several Section Officers were promoted a significant period ago, and were recommended for inclusion after inordinate lapse of time. Besides, most of the departments/offices failed to furnish the clarifications/deficiencies as sought by this department; and

Whereas, vide Notification No. GAD-ESTB/58/2021-09-GAD dated 23.05.2023 a final opportunity has been granted to all Heads of Departments to submit the cases of Section Officers of Heads of Departments cadre, whose names are not figuring in the Tentative Seniority lists, within a period of 15 days from the date of issuance of the said notification, with the stipulation that cases received beyond the stipulated period shall not be entertained and the seniority of such Section Officers shall be reckoned at the bottom of the seniority lists for all practical purposes in future; and

Whereas, thereafter many cases were received in the department for inclusion, and on examination, some of the cases were found complete in all aspects however, deficiencies were also observed in most of the cases. Subsequently, vide letter dated 16.10.2023 requisite information, in respect of the cases where clarifications/deficiencies were observed, was sought from the concerned departments with the advice to furnish the same within a period of one week; and
