Territorial Army Recruitment Rally 2024: 182 Infantry Battalion (JAKLI) – Join the J&K Light Infantry

The Territorial Army (TA) is set to conduct a recruitment rally for the 182 Infantry Battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI). This drive, aimed at selecting dedicated soldiers for various roles, will be held at the JAKLI Regimental Centre, Rangreth, Srinagar, J&K, from 9th November 2024 to 27th November 2024.

Recruitment Schedule

The recruitment rally is organized by domicile regions and dates:

• 9th November 2024 (6:00 AM)
• Domicile Areas: Jammu Province (Haryana & Himachal Pradesh)
• Position: Soldiers (Clerks & Tradesmen Only)
• 10th November 2024 (6:00 AM)
• Domicile Areas: Kashmir Province (Leh, Punjab, NCT of Delhi & UT of Chandigarh)
• Position: Soldiers (Clerks & Tradesmen Only)
• 11th November 2024 (6:00 AM)
• Domicile Areas: Ramban, Banihal, Gool, Ramban, Pogal Paristan, Ukhral
• Position: Soldier General Duty
• 12th to 16th November 2024 (6:00 AM)
• Various dates for regions like Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Baramulla, Kupwara, etc.
• Position: Soldier General Duty
• 17th to 27th November 2024
• Medical Test & Trade Test: For candidates who pass Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Available Positions

The recruitment offers multiple roles:

• Soldier (General Duty): 274 positions
• Soldier (Clerk): 13 positions
• Soldier (Tradesmen): 90 positions (roles include Cooks, Equipment Repairers, etc.)
• Soldier (Special Trades): 7 positions (Housekeepers, Dressers, etc.)

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: 18-42 years
• Education:
• Soldier (General Duty): 10th/Matric pass with at least 45% overall and 33% in each subject.
• Soldier (Clerk): 10+2/Intermediate with 60% overall and 50% in each subject.
• Tradesmen: Specific trades require a Class 10 pass, and Housekeeper roles require a Class 8 pass.

Physical Standards

• Height: 160 cm (165 cm for candidates from Ladakh)
• Weight: Proportional to height and age
• Chest: Minimum 77 cm with a 5 cm expansion

Relaxations: Available for sons of servicemen, ex-servicemen, and widows of servicemen.

Selection Process

The selection includes physical, medical, and trade tests. Qualified candidates will take a written examination (bilingual – English & Hindi) and results will be announced on the spot.
