“Tragic Road Accident in South Kashmir Leaves One Dead, Five Injured” : SRINAGAR: One elderly woman died and five others sustained injuries after an Alto vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a canal near Padpawan area of Shopian while travelling from Rajouri to Babanagri on Sunday.

The vehicle was en route to Babanagri when the driver reportedly lost control near Padpawan.
The car veered off the road and plunged into a nearby canal, resulting in one fatality on the spot and injuries to five others.
The deceased has been identified as Noora Begum (80), wife of Late Roshan Deen, resident of Pangri, Rajouri.
The five injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital, from where two were referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
