SRINAGAR: A 36-year-old man was shot dead during a property dispute in the Vijaypur area of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening, police said.

The victim, identified as Aatish Sharma alias Atul, was allegedly fired upon by his acquaintance Nikhil at Jakh village in the Vijaypur area at around 6:30 pm.
Sharma sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene, according to preliminary information.
Police said the firearm used in the incident belonged to the victim. The accused was subsequently arrested.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway, an officer said.
