Bandipora Encounter One Militant Killed, Operation Ongoing

SRINAGAR: An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing operation in the Ketsun area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.

Quoting sources, GNS reported that one militant was killed in the initial exchange of fire. “His identity will be confirmed once the encounter concludes,” they said.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Choontpathri forest area of Bandipora district on Tuesday following information about the presence of ultras there, the officials said.

They said a gunfight broke out as the militants opened fire on the security forces who retaliated.
