Srinagar Records Season’s Coldest Night at -2°C; Pahalgam Freezes at -4.8°C

SRINAGAR: The mercury plunged further across the Kashmir Valley, marking a chilling turn in the season. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded its coldest night of the season at -2.0°C.

Quoting by KNO Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination and base camp for the annual Amarnath Yatra, experienced an even colder night, with temperatures dipping to a frigid -4.8°C.

According to the Meteorological Department (MeT), Qazigund, often referred to as the gateway to Kashmir, recorded a low of -2.2°C. Meanwhile, Kupwara in north Kashmir saw the minimum temperature settle at -1.2°C.

As the temperatures continue to drop, the region braces for frostier nights and the possibility of early snowfall, a spectacle eagerly awaited by tourists and locals alike.
