SRINAGAR: The body of a man who had been missing for a month was recovered from the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Dam in Uri, Baramulla, on Friday, officials said.

The deceased, identified as Bali Kumar (45), son of Bal Ram Kumar, was a resident of Bandi Brahmna, Uri. He had gone missing from his home on January 20, 2025, prompting his family to file a missing person report at Uri Police Station.
Following continuous search efforts, the police and civil defence teams recovered his body from the NHPC Dam. Officials said that the body will be handed over to his family after medico-legal formalities are completed. (GNS)
