The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, has approved the transition of 109 Grade III Teachers to Grade II under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. This decision follows multiple government orders and the recommendation of the Divisional Level Selection Committee

- Teachers from Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Kulgam, Pulwama, and Shopian districts will be upgraded.
- The upgrade will be effective from September 1, 2018, or the date of regularization/graduation, whichever is later.
- The appointment will be subject to verification of academic qualifications, birth certificates, residence proof, and other essential documents by the Chief Education Officer.
- Any fraudulent documents will result in the cancellation of the appointment.
- The Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) must ensure the teachers met the age requirements at the time of their initial appointment.
- Teachers must submit an affidavit affirming their eligibility.
- If a teacher is upgraded, their previous Grade III position will be restored for record purposes.
- Before implementing the order, the DDO must verify that salary recoveries (if any) have been processed and degrees are from recognized institutions.
This step is aimed at streamlining the career progression of teachers and ensuring quality education across Jammu & Kashmir.
