SRINAGAR: A 17-year-old boy who drowned in the power canal at Haknar Fraw in Ganderbal was recovered on Friday, officials said.

They said that a team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) immediately launched a rescue operation to retrieve the body. After several hours of relentless efforts, the body was retrieved from the canal.
The deceased has been identified as Junaid Ahmad Khan (17), son of Abdul Wahid Khan, a resident of Haknar.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up. (GNS)
