According to a statement, FIR No. 08/2025 was registered at ACB Jammu against Ravinder Sharma (then Tehsildar Settlement Jammu), Mohammad Bashir (then Tehsildar Bahu), Mohd Sarwar Lone (then Naib Tehsildar Bahu), Mohd Rasheed Malik (then Patwari Chowadhi), and beneficiaries including Tara Singh of Deli Rakh Bandu, Jammu.
The case pertains to allotment of land under Cabinet Order No. 578-C of 1954 and Government Order No. 254/C of 2014, which required the allottee to personally cultivate the land within six months. Officials conferred ownership rights on Tara Singh despite violation of these conditions.
Enquiry revealed the land remained in possession of another individual, Nazir Ahmad, and a power of attorney was executed in favour of Javed Iqbal before ownership was formally transferred. The accused allegedly conspired to illegally acquire and sell the land, causing a loss to the state exchequer.
Further investigation is underway, ACB said. (KNO)
