Early Summer Vacation Being Considered Due to Rising Temperatures: Sakina Itoo

SRINAGAR: Health and Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said the government is closely monitoring the prevailing weather conditions and will decide on announcing an early summer break for schools based on the situation.

Speaking to reporters, Itoo said, “The School Education Department is monitoring the weather situation. If we find that there is a need for an early summer break, we will take the call accordingly.”

“It has been only two days of the heatwave. If it continues, then we will take a call accordingly,” she added.

Speaking about tourism, the minister said, “Tourism in Kashmir is well known, and we want more and more tourists to come and enjoy the natural beauty.”

Meanwhile, the minister said that the committee has completed its report on reservations, which will be submitted to the cabinet for discussion. (KNO)
