First Batch of 178 Hajj Pilgrims Arrives Back in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The first batch of 178 Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir returned to Srinagar from Jeddah on Tuesday evening, marking the commencement of the return phase of the sacred journey.

According to officials, the flight landed at Srinagar International Airport at around 9:15 pm. Emotional scenes unfolded as pilgrims, visibly moved and content, were reunited with their families after performing the holy pilgrimage.

Dr Shujaat Qureshi, Executive Officer of the J&K Haj Committee said that all necessary arrangements had been put in place for a smooth reception of the returning pilgrims.

In preparation for the arrivals, the Haj House in Bemina had issued a notification allowing family members to download vehicle passes from the official website two days before the return flight. The advisory also mentioned that immigration clearance and baggage retrieval usually take around an hour after arrival.
