The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a nowcast alert predicting a spell of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the next 3 to 5 hours.
Affected areas include most parts of the Kashmir Valley as well as Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Reasi, Udhampur, and some parts of the Jammu plains.
The weather office has warned that a few locations may experience intense showers, which could lead to flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, especially in vulnerable hilly terrain.

Additionally, gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h are likely at some places.
Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid travel through hilly roads, and keep away from old or weak structures, trees, electric poles, and wires to stay safe.
This alert is part of ongoing monitoring by the MET Centre as unstable weather continues over the region.
